Me Martine Desroches devoted herself to the practice of administrative law for 29 years. She is the founder of the firm which has since become the leading law firm that specializes in car and work-related accidents. In 2017, Me Desroches was appointed judge of the Tribunal administratif du travail. In order to take on this new challenge, she had to leave her legal practice at the firm.

Me Sophie Mongeon was admitted to the Quebec Bar in 1997 and completed her stage under Me Desroches’ supervision. In 2001, Me Mongeon partnered with Me Desroches. In 2017, she took over the firm and continued the tradition of supporting, listening and encouraging clients during their judicial and administrative procedures.

Since 2013, Desroches Mongeon has been continuously expanding its services by offering legal counselling in labour relations, civil law and insurance law.

In addition, the firm offers legal training to workers’ associations, unions, businesses and health care workers. These services are tailor-made to your specific needs. Me Sophie Mongeon got her law degree from the Université de Montréal in 1996. She was admitted to the Quebec bar in 1997, after articling under the supervision of Me Desroches. She partnered with Me Desroches in 2001.

Since 2017, she has taken a new challenge by ensuring the presidency of Desroches Mongeon Attonerys-at-law.

Since day one, Me Mongeon has been working tirelessly to provide the best legal defence to the victims of car and work-related accidents. Throughout her career, she trained young lawyers eager to take up the challenge to represent and protect clients’ rights in the face of governmental organizations often deaf to the victims’ plight.

In 2004, Me Mongeon participated in the establishment of ADVIN which stands for “Association des Victimes d’Infections Nosocomiales”.

Me Mongeon is well respected by her peers and is a remarkable litigation lawyer. She successfully represented countless victims of car and work-related accidents. She also organizes conferences and luncheon seminars to cater to the health care community. Her motto is “Let us help your patients, know how to fill out the entry forms and use the right words!”.

Since 2013, the office of Desroches Mongeon Attorneys-at-law relocated at 4350 rue Beaubien and continued to offer personalized quality services.

Me Mongeon is very active and involved with the Réseau des femmes d’affaire du Québec, the Chambre de commerce de l’Est de Montréal and the Chambre de commerce et d’industrie de Laval. She is also a legal counsel for the Association des Familles de Personnes Assassinées ou Disparues (AFPAD), the Association des victimes de l’amiante du Québec (AVAQ) and the Association pour les droits des accidentés (ADA).

Member of the Quebec Bar since 2013, Me Sigouin studied law at Laval University where he graduated with an L.L.B in 2012.

With a strong and interesting background mainly in the areas of psychiatry and rental law, he decided to join our team to start his career as a lawyer in January 2014.

He notably handles medico-legal and administrative matters in cases involving public insurers (such as CNESST- SAAQ – RQ – IVAC). He also practices in labour relations, both individual and collective.

Over the years, Me Sigouin has acquired a solid experience of representation before administrative tribunals. Due to his efficiency, he was implicated, at an early stage, in all aspects of a file.

Open-minded and gifted in communications, Me Sigouin was granted the position of director of legal services in 2018. He is responsible for training the team’s new lawyers and will continue to serve our clientele.

He is also involved with the Association commerciale du P’tit Beaubien, where he currently sits as vice-president of the board of directors.

Admitted to the Quebec Bar in 2016, Me Stéphanie Hazan holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (L.L.B) since 2015 and a Juris Doctor in North American Common Law (J.D.) from Université de Montréal. She completed her professional training internship at our firm during the fall of 2018.

Recipient of the Governor General’s Medal of Canada and a community activist, Me Hazan is also a member of the Lord Reading Law Society. Before joining our team in 2018, Me Hazan worked in a Montreal boutique law firm specialized in family law. She also volunteered at the McGill Legal Information Clinic where she was able to work in multiple fields such as: labour law, residential and commercial rental law. Just like the rest of the entire Desroches Mongeon Lawyers team, customer needs are what Me. Hazan considers as her primary concern, thereby, her career and convictions led her to defend the interests of road and work accident victims. She uses kindness and determination when she accompanies her clients in their administrative and judicial procedures.

In 2015, Me Andrée-Anne Pilon obtained her Bachelor of Laws Degree from Université du Québec à Montréal. During her last year as a student, Me Pilon involved herself in various university clinics to help people with limited means that were seeking legal advice.

After a most rewarding internship at the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec, Me Pilon is invited to continue for a few more months as a jurist within the organization. Her meticulousness and her concern to do a serious work has defined her work ethics.

Moreover, she was quickly entrusted with the management of complex files, which she will have to carry out. Me Pilon then continued working in the SAAQ’s revision department where has perfected her knowledge in forensic law. Her assets and skills, particularly in the field of administrative and forensic law, have earned her a place on Desroches Mongeon lawyers team. She has always attached great importance to justice being done and this extends towards our clientele.

Me Soudy Bakary holds a European Master in Economic Law and Business and a Master degree in Private Law from the University of Orléans (France) (LL.M). Me Bakary was admitted to the Quebec Bar after a completed Equivalency program at the University of Montreal. Me Bakary also graduated in Law and Legal Techniques of the University of N’djamena (Chad) and is a member of the Young Bar Association of Montreal.

After an internship in civil and commercial litigation, contract and employment law, Me Bakary began his career in private practice. In November 2014, he went into partnership with Me Renaud Guerin and works together as consultants for Desroches Mongeon Avocats inc since then. Me Bakary is mainly interested in civil and commercial litigation and employment law and has a good experience representing clients in court.

In 2001, Me C, Imboty began his career in Madagascar and mostly worked in civil, commercial and employment law litigation. Me Christian Imboty is graduated from the Barreau in 2014, did his internship with Me Bernard Guérin, dealing with immigration, civil, labour relations law and corporate cases in 2015. Marie-France Chayer graduated in paralegal from the Collège Ahuntsic in 2009. In January 2009, during her last semester in college, she completed an internship at our office and, as of April 2009, she became a member of our team as a paralegal. Since then, she has received a certificate in “Industrial Relations” at the Université de Montréal.

In 2013, Marie-France became a legal services coordinator. She works hand in hand with the management to ensure a good administrative and legal procedure in every file. Conductor of a devoted team of paralegals, she assures that the clients have a pleasant and profitable experience. Her experience, her diligence and her rigour make her an asset for the team and for the clientele.

In 2017, she was granted the position of the managing director of the firm. With as much competence as before, she now ensures that the juridical department, the accounting department and the clientele department precisely reflect the mission established by Desroches Mongeon avocats and that this mission is guaranteed of quality for the clientele.

In 2003, Marie-Eve obtained her college diploma in social sciences. She received a scholarship to highlight her academic results. She undertook a bachelor in international relations and international law. However, she reoriented herself towards the Paralegal program offered at the College Ahuntsic. In 2010, Marie-Ève did her end-of-course-internship at Médical Conseil Santé Sécurité, which is a business working in the field of labour law. She also received a mention of excellence during the diploma ceremony. Since May 2010, she has joined Desroches Mongeon avocats as a paralegal.

In 2013, Marie-Eve became the coordinator of the clientele service and the forensic expertise service. Considering that justice’s accessibility is important to this business, she responds to the numerous questions that victims have on a daily basis. She also ensures that our clients are served with respect and in reasonable delays. The fact that she closely listens to others, her sensibility and her dedication will know how to charm you.

In 2018, she is granted the position of operations coordinator. Marie-Eve takes care of the clientele service as well as the entire service of forensic expertise by booking appointments with different specialized doctors and by verifying and supervising which documents are necessary to the expertise’s writing. Plus, she takes care of the court’s registry and she books hearing dates and conciliation dates. Finally, she takes care of our different social media.

Mirka Gaudreault has obtained an artist management degree in 2003. In 2013, after a professional reorientation, she continued her studies in Paralegal. Laurence Maheu-Chartrand has obtained her paralegal diploma in 2015. It was a professional reorientation for her. She had previously studied in environmental geography. She has also obtained a training at the school Hôtelière des Laurentides. After having done her internship at our office, she joined our team. Meticulous and organized, she was responsible for the files’ opening and for the vast majority of the different legal procedures.

In April 2018, she now works in close collaboration with Me Laurence Dubé-Proulx to ensure the supervision of the clients’ files.

In the fall of 2018, Karina Cabrera joins Desroches Mongeon lawyers team as a receptionist. She is an accounting student and is also passionate about the legal field which leads her to also work in collaboration with our administrative team. In addition to her cheerfulness, one of her main assets is that she can meet a wide range of our clientele (French, English and Spanish) and she does so with enthusiasm.
