If you were a victim of a road accident, you could be receiving a bi-monthly amount to allow you to pay someone to help you with the tasks you are no longer able to perform by yourself. Indeed, the SAAQ can provide you with assistance in carrying out your personal and household activities (cleaning, meal preparation, etc.).
The amount you receive is determined, in the first six months, by the injuries you sustained. Afterwards, it is calculated by your functional limitations after you fill out a form to evaluate your personal home assistance needs. For 2016, the weekly maximum is 853$. You can choose to hire professionals, or to ask your family or friends for help, as long as you make sure you keep a receipt or proof of payment to justify to reimbursement of your expenses.
If you need help at home now, or if you paid someone in the past to assist you and did not get reimbursed for it, call your compensation officer to submit your application for personal home assistance.
